With the joint efforts of China and Thailand, Chinese citizen Wang Xing has left Thailand on Friday evening local time heading back to China, according to a release from the Chinese Embassy in Thailand on Friday.

The embassy said that regarding this individual case of online fraud, the Thai authorities attached great importance to it, swiftly launching a rescue operation which ensured the timely rescue of the individual involved. China expresses its gratitude for this, the embassy said.

The Chinese Embassy and consulates in Thailand will continue to work closely with the Thai government and relevant departments to effectively safeguard the safety and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in Thailand, according to the release.

Previously, Wang's lawyer confirmed with the Global Times that the Chinese actor would return to Shanghai by plane on Friday evening. At the request of his family, his legal team declined to disclose the specific flight number.
