Consul General of Greece in Guangzhou, Georgia Andreadi, met Director General Li Lin of Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office in Fuzhou, East China's Fujian Province, on February 10. Both sides agreed to foster further cooperation between Fujian Province and Greece.  

During their talks, Li briefed the consul general on the economic and social development in Fujian. He also introduced large-scale events that are open to foreign enterprises and partners, such as the China International Fair for Investment and Trade, the Digital China Summit, the World Maritime Equipment Conference, and the China Xiamen International Stone Fair. 

Li said the province is continuing to expand high-level opening-up to the world and promoting high-quality development in all aspects.

"It is expected that with the joint support of Fujian and the Region of Western Greece, as well as the sister-city relations between Xiamen and Marathon, there will be more cooperation in shipping, shipbuilding, stone trade, marathon event, and international island tourism," said Li. 

Andreadi said that Greece has also actively promoted the building of ecological islands in recent years and is committed to achieving the sustainable development of islands through renewable energy. Affirming the proposed cooperation, the consul general said that the Greek Consulate General will play a good role as a bridge, enhancing exchanges between Greece and Fujian.
