As July 1, 2024 marks the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), various activities are being held to celebrate this important milestone.

One of the popular ways of celebrating this big day has been visiting CPC museums dedicated to the Party's history. In cities like Beijing and Shanghai, museums have seen a surge in visitors eager to learn more about the Party's founding and its subsequent development.

Exhibits showcase the Party's early struggles, its role in China's development and achievements in modernizing the country, attracting people from all walks of life. For many visitors, these museums offer them a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the CPC's history and its impact on China.

Besides of visiting museums, people have been participating in other activities to celebrate the CPC's anniversary. From attending lectures and seminars to reciting the Party oath and volunteering in community service projects, there is a sense of pride and unity among Chinese citizens.

When founded in 1921, the CPC made it the Party's founding mission to seek happiness for the Chinese people and the rejuvenation of the nation. From leading the Chinese people in the fight against imperialism and feudalism to implementing economic reforms that have lifted millions out of poverty, the Party has been at the forefront of China's progress. Through its leadership, the CPC has transformed China into a global economic powerhouse and key player on the world arena.

President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, has said that the people are the "supreme and ultimate judge" of the Party's work.

China has lifted nearly 800 million people out of poverty over the past four decades, meeting the poverty eradication target in the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development 10 years ahead of schedule.

More than 1,800 Party members and officials have died on the front lines of the battle against poverty, which brought home the Party's fundamental purpose of wholeheartedly serving the people.

The spirit of fighting bravely without fear of sacrifice that the CPC advocates has earned real respect from the Chinese people.

In many places, Party members have been seen gathering to renew their pledge to join the Party before the CPC flag just as they did when they were admitted to the Party. Through this oath, they are reminded that their work is not done and that there are still many challenges ahead.

Statistics from the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee shows that there are 98.04 million Party members and about 5.07 million primary-level organizations by the end of 2022. The CPC also has been growing more attractive to young people, who are willing to go through tests to join the organization and serve the people and country.

Moreover, the Chinese Young Pioneers (CYP), a national mass organization for Chinese children, has also grown stronger. CYP had about 114.8 million members across the country at the end of 2023, the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Central Committee said.

The CYP serves as a reserve force to build socialism and communism as well as realize national rejuvenation. Since it was founded in 1949, the organization has played an important role in promoting children's growth under the guidance of the Party leadership and the CYLC.
