The British Consulate General Chongqing jointly staged "Snow Leopards and Friends" with Xi Zhinong, China's leading wildlife photographer, in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan Province, on November 2.
Right after the movie viewing, Xi and Richard Leafe, former chief executive of the Lake District National Park Authority, held a sharing session, sending a key message to the audience that it is important and imperative to work on biodiversity protection, stressing that "every degree counts."
In 2002, Xi produced the documentary
The Mysterious Golden Monkey. The film was awarded the "Green Oscar" at the Nature Screen Film Festival in the UK. The movie was an important driver in the establishment of China's first private nature center that opened in 2009.
