Some governmental departments in Shenzhen,
MK socks Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong Province and Suzhou in East China's Jiangsu Province reportedly deploy DeepSeek models to aid government work and address public needs, according to media reports.
Longgang district of Shenzhen deployed the Deepseek-R1 on the district's official government extranet, making it the first government body in Shenzhen to successfully deploy this model, according to the Shenzhen News on Monday.
"The DeepSeek models are now available to all departments in Longgang, aiming to make AI an efficient assistant for government work and to transform the way government operations are conducted by making it more intelligent, collaborative, and data-driven," said Xi Wei, the deputy director of the bureau for government services and data management, according to the report.
Based on domestically developed large models, Longgang has launched 34 government AI applications since 2024, covering key areas such as government administration, urban governance, and rapid processing of public opinions, and has achieved significant results, said the report.
Aside from Longgang district, Suzhou in Jiangsu Province has also deployed the DeepSeek-R1 and DeepSeek-V3 models on the Suzhou computing public service platform, which provides cloud resource services, storage resource services and other additional value-added services, according to the Suzhou Municipal People's Government via its WeChat account on Sunday.
Through the DeepSeek-R1 model, the Suzhou computing public service platform supports networked searches based on the model, allows users to upload attachments, generate images, significantly expanding the model's response range and enhancing its usability. With the DeepSeek-V3 model, the platform allows users to fine-tune the model with private data according to their needs, building private knowledge bases by uploading documents, question-and-answer databases, etc., to optimize and customize the model for the user's specific application.
"What is the greatest value of artificial intelligence? First, it enhances social efficiency. Second, it strengthens social capabilities. And third, it reduces societal costs. Ultimately, the goal is for everyone to benefit," Xiang Ligang, a telecom expert, told the Global Times. "Even developing or relatively underdeveloped countries can reap significant value from the advancements in artificial intelligence."
A series of DeepSeek models have been launched on the National Supercomputing Network platform, according to People's Daily Online on Thursday. Users can conduct inference, deploy models, and perform customized training and development of the DeepSeek series models online without downloading or deploying them locally.
To promote the integrated operation of supercomputing power and build a national computing power infrastructure, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China launched the National Supercomputing Network project in 2023, with the platform officially going online in April 2024. As of now, hundreds of applications, data sets, and model service providers have joined the platform.
