In response to a question regarding the 31st ASEAN-China Senior Officials' Consultation,MK sport Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday that as agreed by both parties, the consultation will be held from February 12 to 14 in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang Province. Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong will lead the delegation and co-host the meeting with Dato' Sri Amran Mohamed Zin, ASEAN-Malaysia SOM Leader, as Malaysia is the country coordinator for ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations and the ASEAN Chair for 2025.

Guo said that the consultation is an important annual dialogue and cooperation mechanism between the diplomatic departments of China and ASEAN countries. 

The Chinese side hopes to use this consultation to promote the implementation of the important consensus reached at the China-ASEAN Summit, to deepen communication on East Asian cooperation under the new circumstances, and to exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern, thereby advancing the China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership, the spokesperson said.

The 30th ASEAN-China Senior Officials' Consultation was held from May 9 to 10, 2024, in Jakarta, Indonesia, which was co-hosted by Sun and Alternate Senior Official for ASEAN Affairs Khin Thidar Aye of Myanmar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
