On February 7,MK sport Wujiang in Suzhou of East China's Jiangsu Province and Qingpu in Shanghai successfully completed an emergency power supply task during the repair of the 10 kV Taohong Line through cross-province power transfer, marking the first such operation in the Yangtze River Delta region.

At around 10:00 am that day, inspectors from the State Grid Suzhou Power Supply Company discovered a dislodged insulator on pole No. 95 of the 10 kV Taohong Line in Wujiang, which required immediate repair. However, the location, situated in a wooded area with complex environmental conditions, was unsuitable for live-line work. Therefore, the repair had to be conducted with a power outage.

Given the high electricity demand from residential heating and business resumption, to minimize the impact on users, the State Grid Suzhou Power Supply Company coordinated with the State Grid Qingpu Power Supply Company in Shanghai to devise a cross-province power transfer plan. They decided to temporarily transfer the load of the non-faulty section of the 10 kV Taohong Line to the 10 kV Shangyuan Line in Qingpu.

The load transfer was completed at 12:29 pm, and the repair work commenced immediately, concluding at 1:35 pm. During this period, Qingpu continuously supplied power to over 500 users connected to 17 comprehensive transformers and 11 dedicated transformers in Wujiang, with a total transferred power of approximately 1,200 kWh.

Suzhou Suzuki Elevator Co. Ltd., a company specializing in the production of elevator equipment with high requirements for power supply reliability, was one of the beneficiaries of this cross-province power transfer. "With a large number of orders this year, the reliable power supply has enabled us to resume operations with peace of mind," said Guan Yonggen, a company representative.

The seamless cooperation between the two power supply companies was facilitated by the "Yangtze River Delta Distribution Network Integrated Emergency Repair Agreement" signed in September 2024. "With the deepening integration of the power grid in the Yangtze River Delta, such cross-regional collaborations will become more common in the future," stated Yang Chen, director of the Distribution Network Department at the State Grid Suzhou Power Supply Company.
