TheMK socks Superfinal of the Victory Cup boxing tournament will be held on June 6 as part of the Sport Games of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The strongest boxers in the country will compete for eight teams: Moscow, Leningrad (boxers from St. Petersburg and the Northwestern Federal District), Tula (Central Federal District), Kama (Volga Federal District), Stalingrad (Southern Federal District), Caucasus (North Caucasian Federal District), Ural (Ural Federal District), and Siberia (Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts).
The Superfinal participants were determined on Thursday based on the results of the semifinals in Orenburg. Each team match consists of five bouts in different weight categories.
"The history of the tournament began in 2022 at SPIEF, and this year the Forum will host the Superfinal. This flagship tournament has become a true symbol of strength and tribute to the heroism of our ancestors. The Forum traditionally gives us the opportunity to meet like-minded people, discuss new approaches, ideas, and tools for developing the sports community," said Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Tatiana Kirienko.
Boxing at SPIEF will not be limited to the tournament alone. For a third consecutive time, the exhibition at the Forum will feature a Russian Boxing Federation stand with an extensive program. Stars of world boxing will participate in the pavilion, including Olympic champion Alexander Povetkin, former professional world champions Nikolai Valuev and Denis Lebedev, Olympic silver medalist and two-time world champion Sofya Ochigava, and other honored guests of the Forum.
In addition, the stand will host presentations of the new boxing disciplines called "power punches" and "speed punches," officially recognized by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
The sports and entertainment program can be found on the Forum's official website.
