A symposium on the ethnic opera Erquanwas held at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music last week in North China's Tianjin Municipality,MKsport drawing experts from different academic backgrounds and professionals in art and culture to gather together to discuss the future development of ethnic opera.
Attendees shared the consensus that the success of the ethnic opera Erquanrepresents the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese culture. This work not only amazes with its artistic achievements but also signifies a solid step for Chinese ethnic opera on the Chinese and even the world art stage.
Using both realistic and non-realistic linear narratives and an intertwined structure of time and space, Erquantells the life story of the folk musician A Bing, who continuously struggled against a fate filled with hardships.
"By employing this multi-layered dramatic and psychological structure, the audience can gain a deeper understanding of the characters' psychology and fate," said Huang Dingshan, chief director of Erquan.
