On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Norway, and to warm up the Norwegian National Pavilion at the 2024 edition of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai opened its cultural exhibition "Hei, Norway! [Hello, Norway!]" to the public at the People's Square, a large interchange station of the Shanghai Metro on November 2.
The exhibition features a dynamic culture, an innovative business environment, and the sustainable seafood industry in the country.
At the opening ceremony, Tobias Svenningsen, Norway's consul general in Shanghai said, "Norway is a country of nature. The exhibition showcases Norway's rich nature and culture, allowing residents and tourists in Shanghai to experience the country's unique blend of ancient tradition and modern lifestyle, as well as its rich heritage and cutting-edge modernity."
One of the busiest subway stations in Shanghai, the subway station has a daily passenger flow of about 600,000 visits.
The exhibition was jointly launched by the Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai, Innovation Norway, and the Norwegian Seafood Council. It also celebrates and highlights the sister city relationship between Oslo and Shanghai.
While preparing for the CIIE, the exhibition also provides a glimpse of the Norwegian pavilion at the 2024's CIIE by showcasing some Norwegian exhibitors and their products for the Chinese market and consumers.
The exhibition will close on November 15.
