China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) will continue to provide a good service guarantee for foreign enterprises, including European enterprises, to invest and operate in China, Ling Ji, a vice minister of the MOFCOM, said on Tuesday when chairing a roundtable for European enterprises, soliciting questions and suggestions from European companies operating in China.

China-Europe economic and trade cooperation has a solid foundation, with deeply intertwined production, supply and value chains, with abundant cooperation momentum and great potential, Ling said.

"China not only possesses a vibrant, super-large market but also has a complete industrial and supply chain, concentrated innovative resources and rich application scenarios, making it an important part of the global market, which is beneficial for European companies to carry out long-term investments," Ling said.

European companies are welcome to leverage their strengths, and enhance their competitiveness through investing in and deeply cultivating the Chinese market, Ling said. He added that the MOFCOM will provide a service guarantee for foreign enterprises operating and investing in China.

European representatives attending the roundtable expressed willingness to contribute to further deepening China-EU economic and trade cooperation, oppose decoupling from China, and deeply cultivate the Chinese market.

Representatives from more than 70 foreign companies, including BNP Paribas, ENI, Roche Diagnostics, Novartis, IKEA, SAP, Traton and Nokia attended the event. Representatives from European business associations also attended.
