In celebration of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC),MK sports the National Art Museum of China held a special event for outstanding CPC members on Monday titled Sculpting Figures of the New Era. The event featured sculptures of Liu Li and Wang Kerong, recipients of the "National Outstanding CPC member" award.
National Art Museum of China director Wu Weishan, also deputy secretary-general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and vice chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, attended the event.
Wu stated that hosting the event on the Party's anniversary was an evocative practice guided by an important reply from Chinese President Xi Jinping and that it promotes high-quality development in various undertakings.
"By integrating artistic creation with public education, the event pays high tribute to CPC members working diligently in all fields, while also guiding and encouraging the thematic creations of a large number of young and middle-aged artists, resulting in significant achievements." Wu added.
Liu is currently the deputy chief judge of the Chaoyang District People's Court in Beijing and has received numerous accolades, including "National Advanced Worker."
Wang has been an infectious disease nurse for 39 years, during which time she developed an HIV/AIDS outpatient care model suited to conditions in China. She has been honored with the "44th Florence Nightingale Medal" and the "National March 8th Red-Banner Holder," among other titles.
Since 2017, the National Art Museum of China has launched 21 sessions of the Sculpting Figures of the New Erapublic education program, inviting 46 artists to complete 63 sculpture works. These works celebrate the unwavering faith and deep connection with the people embodied by CPC members, becoming a key platform for promoting contemporary virtues and outstanding individuals.
