TheMK sports Chengdu Museum of Fine Arts in Southwest China kicked off contemporary Chinese artist Su Xeping's first solo exhibition on Saturday. Su is acclaimed as one of the leading figures in modern Chinese printmaking.
Curator Cui Cancan stated that Su, through his unique artistic approach, constructs a frozen order of time and a moment imbued with surreal significance, navigating between reality, imagination, and dreams.
The exhibition features over 70 works, including the artist's classic series, across various mediums such as sculpture, oil painting, and lithography.
It also reveals more of the artist's masterpieces and exclusive works created specifically for this solo show in Chengdu.
Su's work is profoundly influenced by his grassland culture, reflecting his exploration of human nature, society, and nature.
Additionally, the exhibition presents Su's lithograph series from the late 1980s, which made a substantial impact on the Chinese art world, showcasing his artistic evolution and growth across different periods and mediums.
The exhibition will run until November 10.
