When asked to comment on the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities' claim that public offices and public schools have been completely banned from using AI models from DeepSeek,MKS sports Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said on Wednesday that such moves only harm the interest of Taiwan enterprises and public.

"We welcome the people of the Taiwan region to use AI models launched by mainland enterprises and actively support cross-Straits enterprises in cooperating in the field of artificial intelligence," Zhu said.

The DPP authorities, driven by their fearful mentality, are both afraid of and resentful toward high-tech products from the mainland, Zhu said, adding that they arbitrarily impose bans under the pretext of security concerns, which only harm the interests of Taiwan enterprises and the public.

Once launched, the AI large model of mainland artificial intelligence enterprise DeepSeek quickly took the top spot in the mobile app downloads list in more than 100 countries and regions, and was widely welcomed by netizens around the world, Zhu said.

Zhu added that the absurd approach of using "anti-intellectualism" to fuel "anti-China" sentiment has already met with discontent and opposition from various sectors on the island.
