As WTO's 9th review of the trade policies and practices of Australia will be held on March 12 and 14, 2025, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced on Tuesday to seek public opinions and comments on Australian trade policies, in order to further understand barriers and discriminatory treatment encountered by Chinese companies amid trade and investment with Australia, as well as feedbacks on China's response measures to Australian policies.
MOFCOM noted that according to WTO's work schedule, the ninth review of the trade policies and practices of Australia will take place from March 12 to 14, 2025, and WTO members will conduct a comprehensive review and assessment of Australia's policy trends and their impacts in the trade and investment sectors since 2020.
MOFCOM welcomes relevant enterprises, industry associations, and research institutions to submit their written or electronic comments, concerns, and opinions to the ministry by February 16, 2025.
He Yadong, a spokesperson for the MOFCOM, said on December 12, 2024, that Chinese and Australian authorities are conducting technical consultations to resolve inspection and quarantine challenges related to Australian lobster exports.
