China's technology giant Tencent Cloud's TI platform announced on Tuesday the adoption of advanced DeepSeek artificial intelligence (AI) models,
mk making it easier for developers to access DeepSeek, according to a statement by the company.
As a powerful Chinese AI service provider, DeepSeek, which is based in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, has gained global spotlight recently, challenging OpenAI with a free AI-powered chatbot.
According to Tencent, its TI platform is offering a limited-time free online trial of the latest DeepSeek-R1 model. As an enterprise-level machine learning platform, the TI platform provides model service management, monitoring operations and resource scaling capabilities, helping businesses and developers efficiently to integrate DeepSeek models into real-world applications.
Other Chinese companies are also ramping up efforts to delve into the AI sector. Tencent's move followed a recent announcement by Alibaba regarding service enhancement in collaboration with DeepSeek.
Alibaba told the Global Times on Tuesday that Alibaba Cloud PAI Model Gallery now supports one-click deployment of DeepSeek-V3 and DeepSeek-R1 models on the cloud. On this platform, users of Alibaba Cloud can handle training, deployment and inference without coding, simplifying the model development process and offering developers and enterprises streamlined AI development and application, Alibaba said.
And, Baidu on Monday announced that its Intelligent Cloud Qianfan Large Model Platform has adopted the DeepSeek-R1 and DeepSeek-V3 models. They introduced ultra-low pricing plans and offered limited-time free services. Users can quickly experience the models by logging into the model-builder of that platform, said the company.
A good number of domestic and international companies have announced their integration with DeepSeek models, highlighting DeepSeek's increasing adoption by businesses worldwide, Xiang Ligang, director-general of the Beijing-based Information Consumption Alliance, told the Global Times on Tuesday.
"DeepSeek effectively helps companies reduce costs and improve efficiency, particularly by simplifying AI development," Xiang said.
As more companies embrace DeepSeek, an AI industry ecosystem will take shape, positioning Chinese AI firms prominently on the global stage, Xiang noted.
With DeepSeek gaining global recognition for its groundbreaking capabilities, major tech firms, including US-based graphics processing unit giant Nvidia, are incorporating DeepSeek into their platforms - a decision widely seen as a strategic recognition of DeepSeek's rising prowess.
This trend comes as several countries recently took steps to restrict access to DeepSeek, citing so-called "security concerns."
DeepSeek's AI assistant emerged as the most-downloaded mobile AI app in 140 markets, with India leading in new user adoption, Bloomberg reported on Saturday.
