CAAM has predicts that China's total automobile sales are likely to reach 32.9 units in 2025, marking a growth of 4.7 per cent over a year earlier. Of the sales, NEV consumption are expected to reach 16 million units, up 24.4 per cent year-on-year.
In 2024, NEV output and sales stood at 12.89 million and 12.87 million units, respectively, up 34.4 percent and 35.5 percent year-on-year, accounting for 40.9 percent of all new car sales in the country.
NEV exports increased by 6.7 per cent to reach 1.28 million units in 2024, cementing China's position as the global leader in the NEV sector, the association reported.
