When asked whether the reported meeting between the defense chiefs of Japan and the US in Japan in late March,MK sports Korea which involves the Taiwan question, will impact Foreign Minister Wang Yi's planned Japan visit, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday that we urge the US and Japan to abide by the one-China principle and their own commitments, and immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs and manipulating China-related issues.

The US and Japan recently issued a joint statement blatantly interfering in China's internal affairs regarding the Taiwan question. China has lodged solemn representations with the US and Japan, expressing strong dissatisfaction.

The Taiwan question is purely an internal affair of China and lies at the core of China's core interests, which brooks no foreign interference, Guo added.

The governments of the US and Japan have both made solemn commitments to China on the Taiwan question, and Japan, in particular, which bears the grave historical responsibility for its invasion and colonial rule over the Taiwan region, should be all the more careful with its words and actions on the Taiwan question.

Guo added that "Regarding the visit you mentioned, I have no information to provide."
