Air Serbia flight JU986 landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 6:47 pm on Saturday,MK sports receiving a ceremonial water salute, marking the launch of the first direct flight route between Shanghai and Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, CMG reported on Sunday.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Serbia.

Operated by Air Serbia using an Airbus A330 plane, the route is initially scheduled for twice-weekly service.

It is widely believed that the route will enhance connectivity and strengthen cooperation and exchanges between China and Serbia in trade, tourism, and cultural activities.

With the inauguration of this new route, Shanghai will expand its destination network to another Belt and Road Initiative partner country, further enhancing its international flight network.
