TheMKS sports 47th Int'l Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, known as the "Oscars of the Circus World," announced on Wednesday that the men's collective acrobatic performance by the China National Acrobatic Troupe and the umbrella-balancing act by the Zhejiang Acrobatic Troupe won the Gold and Silver Awards, respectively, according to the Xinhua News Agency.   

This marks the fourth gold award for a Chinese acrobatic troupe in the history of the Int'l Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo.

"We have revolutionized and developed the 'acrobatic bike' genre, winning the admiration of both young domestic and international audiences with a more modern and creative approach, showcasing the cultural strength and confidence of New China on the international stage," Li Chi, the head of the China National Acrobatic Troupe, told the Global Times on Wednesday.

"We boldly integrated techniques such as tumbling, top work, flexibility, and strength-based throws and catches, which are completely different from traditional acrobatic bike skills, pushing the art to new heights," he noted.

For Li, China is a powerhouse in acrobatics, with numerous practitioners and a world-renowned high standard for acrobatic arts, making it a cultural calling card for international exchanges.

2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Morocco, and acrobatics has played an important role in promoting mutual understanding and cultural exchange between artists and the peoples of the two countries, according to the troupe.
