Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday (local time) met with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in Johannesburg,MK socks South Africa, upon request, according to a news release on the Chinese Foreign Ministry's official website on Saturday.

During the talks, Wang noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Australia relations have stabilized and regained momentum, a development warmly received by various sectors in both countries.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stated that the return of bilateral ties to a healthy and stable track serves both sides' common interests and aligns with the shared aspirations of their peoples. He emphasized that China is willing to work with Australia to build a more mature, stable, and fruitful China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Wang also noted China's appreciation for Australia's reaffirmation of its adherence to the one-China principle and expressed hope that Australia will continue to respect China's core interests and major concerns, uphold the political foundation of bilateral relations, and properly manage differences and disputes.

In the face of today's complex and shifting international landscape, China calls on all nations to uphold genuine multilateralism, major powers particularly to demonstrate leadership and responsibility, Wang said, adding that China firmly opposes any attempts to reverse the course of history and resists a return to the "law of the jungle."

"We are willing to work together with the global community, including Australia, to safeguard the fruits of the victory in World War II and uphold the international order with the United Nations at its core," Wang pointed out.

Wong acknowledged the positive progress in China-Australia exchanges across various fields, highlighting the full resumption of economic and trade ties as a strong signal. She reaffirmed Australia's commitment to the one-China policy and its willingness to strengthen cooperation with China in areas of mutual national interests, uphold international rule of law and strategic security, and jointly address global challenges.
