After DeepSeek's explosive rise in the market,MK sport a wave of related training courses emerged across Chinese social media platforms. Experts said that the popularity of DeepSeek training reflects the Chinese public's growing interest in artificial intelligence and provides more accessible opportunities for the general population.

The Global Times found that a quick search on social media platform Xiaohongshu, or RedNote, reveals a wide range of DeepSeek training courses. The most popular types, apart from those designed for beginners, are those that combine DeepSeek with specific industry applications, such as e-commerce, self-media and education.

Some of the courses are free, while others require subscription. Most paid courses are priced up to around 25 yuan ($3.4). A course named "First Release DeepSeek Prompt Words: 100 Commands" costs just 20 yuan, which has already been purchased by over 1,000 people.

Similar courses are also available on other Chinese online retailers like Taobao, Xianyu and Pinduoduo.

In the education sector, training courses using DeepSeek to assist with national civil servant exams have been particularly focused. A paid course called "DeepSeek Civil Servant Interview Guide" has already garnered buyers.

"One of the strengths of AI is answering exam questions and providing explanations, where there are no standard answers or explanations in civil servant exams. I gave DeepSeek two questions from the civil servant exam, and the answers it provided were better than those of most institutional instructors. It even showed the reasoning process in screenshots," a civil servant exam blogger wrote on Xiaohongshu. "This AI, more familiar with domestic databases, outperforms human teachers in terms of professionalism and responsibility in all aspects of civil service exams."

Another app developer, focused on AI and civil service exam training on Xiaohongshu, has created a civil service exam training website built around DeepSeek model. Related posts have garnered nearly 20,000 likes.

"The surge in popularity of DeepSeek training has not only sparked public interest in artificial intelligence but has also created multifaceted opportunities for ordinary individuals," Guo Tao, an investor in the AI field, told the Global Times.

"It offers an opportunity for skill enhancement, enabling people to quickly master the operation and application techniques of DeepSeek, thereby improving their abilities in different fields, and to some extent, boosting their competitiveness in the workplace. For those with a business mindset, DeepSeek also presents entrepreneurial opportunities," Guo said.

User feedback on the training courses has been mixed. Some users have found the paid courses useful, while others felt the content was lacking. One user commented, "It's just a copy of publicly available courses with no value."

Guo advised consumers to assess the situation carefully to avoid being misled by unsuitable courses. It is recommended consumers remain cautious and purchase only what is necessary.

In addition to public training courses online, a national institution has also organized the internal DeepSeek training session. On Wednesday, the Qingyuan Procuratorate in South China's Guangdong Province held a DeepSeek training seminar aimed at enhancing the digital thinking and smart tool application abilities of its staff. The seminar explored new paths for integrating AI technology with prosecutorial work, Yangcheng Evening News reported on Thursday.

During the seminar, instructors presented practical cases related to legal research, case analysis, similar case searches and document drafting, providing an accessible introduction to DeepSeek. They also analyzed and compared its strengths and weaknesses with other mainstream large language models from both domestic and international sources.

"The general public is actively embracing the age of artificial intelligence," Qin An, deputy director of the expert committee on counter-terrorism and cyber security governance at the China Society of Police Law, told the Global Times. "In this context, DeepSeek has played a pivotal role by breaking down the barriers constructed by the US, making advanced AI tools accessible to ordinary people."
